Adam Nicolson wins Ondaatje Prize
Adam Nicolson was last night announced as the winner of the 2009 Royal Society of Literature Ondaatje Prize for his book Sissinghurst: An Unfinished History (HarperPress).
Judges Selina Hastings, Philip Hensher and Peter Porter praised the book as “a powerfully evocative, beautifully written historical study of family history – not only remarkable in its own right, but exactly the sort of book the Prize was created for.”
